September 26, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The City of Norfolk Office to End Homelessness is holding its 11th Annual Project Homeless Connect Wednesday, September 14, 2001 at Scope Arena.  The event brings together local homeless service agencies and organizations to provide “one-stop” access to much-needed resources for more than 600 expected participants.  The event features medical providers, housing agencies, employment agencies, and benefit specialists.  Participants receive donated goods as well as services.

Norfolk’s Project Homeless Connect events have captured national attention, having been selected as a “Best Practice” model by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness in 2007.  Since its implementation in 2005, the semi-annual Project Homeless Connect events have provided goods and services to more than 4,000 guests.
