APAH Brings Additional Affordable Housing to Arlington

Arlington, VA., September 19, 2007 - The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) will celebrate the renovation of its latest acquisition, Courthouse Crossings Apartments, with a special grand opening ceremony on Tuesday, September 25 from 4 pm – 6 pm. Virginia and Arlington County officials, residents and neighbors will join the grand opening ceremony at Courthouse Crossings at 1220 North Scott Street.

APAH’s purchase of the 112-unit complex in May 2006 achieved a goal set by its founders when the nonprofit was formed in 1989. With the support of Arlington County and the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA), APAH secured the $34 million necessary to purchase, renovate and preserve affordable housing at the fifteen-year-old property. As a result, APAH was able to expand affordability at the complex and make every apartment affordable to households earning $35,000 to $55,000 annually.

APAH is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to exclusively providing quality, sustainable affordable housing in Arlington County and it provides 514 affordable homes in 9 locations. For more information on the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing, visit them online at www.apah.org.

Nina Janopaul, APAH’s Executive Director, is available for interviews. To schedule an interview prior to or at the Courthouse Crossings event, please contact Judy Yoder at 703-276-2657 ext. 106 or Susan Anderson at 703-408-0882.
