Norfolk Property Owners to Receive Tax Bills Soon

May 8, 2008 - Norfolk’s Commissioner of the Revenue, Sharon M. McDonald, and Norfolk City Treasurer, Thomas W. Moss, Jr., today announced that the 2008 personal property tax bills have been mailed to Norfolk property owners. Customers should begin receiving the bills in the next several days.

Personal Property Tax Deadline is May 5

Treasurer H. Roger Zurn, Jr., reminds taxpayers that the deadline for payment of the first half personal property tax is Monday, May 5, 2008.  

Governor Kaine Signs Bill Providing Tax Relief

City to Hold Auction of Real Property for Delinquent Taxes

County’s single family assessments rise an average 4.83%

James City County’s average single family residential reassessment increase is 4.83 percent. The County’s taxable real estate tax value increased by approximately 8.74 percent to $10.68 billion for FY 2008. Property reassessment notices will be mailed beginning Aug. 24 to owners of 25,986 properties whose property has changed in assessed value.
