NORFOLK, VA - December 29, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded more than $3.6 million in grants to sustain homeless housing programs in Norfolk and Chesapeake in the first phase of the HUD Homeless Assistance Awards for this year. All of Norfolk and Chesapeake's current Permanent Supportive Housing and Transitional Housing Programs were fully renewed through the competition.

The program provides exterior home repair opportunities to low and moderate income homeowners at no cost to them. Volunteers come during the summer for one week.

Many earthquake survivors have told Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) Community Relations teams, they have not registered because of this fear.

Leesburg, VA - November 22, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Treasurer H. Roger Zurn Jr. reminds taxpayers that the deadline for payment of the second half real property tax is Monday, December 5, 2011. Payments postmarked after December 5, 2011, will incur a 10% late payment penalty.
