“Homeownership 101″ Workshop Schedule Set for First Half of 2008

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services will hold its next “Homeownership 101″ workshop Monday, March 10 & Wednesday, March 12, 2008, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place in Potomac Falls.

The county provides free homebuyer education workshops to assist potential first-time homebuyers in understanding the home-buying process. The six-hour workshop covers a number of topics relating to homeownership, including budgeting, credit, working with Realtors, the mortgage process and what to expect at settlement.

The workshops are held several times throughout the year over a two-evening time period from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at different locations. Attendance at both sessions is required. The class size for each workshop is limited, so early registration is advised. Participants must pre-register by contacting Chris Vogel of the Department of Family Services at 703-777-0353 (V/TTY). You may also contact Chris Vogel if you require any type of reasonable accommodation, as the result of physical, sensory or mental disability, to participate in this program. Three days notice is requested.

In addition to the workshop in March, workshops also are scheduled for:

April 14 & 16, Leesburg Public Safety Center, 65 Plaza Street, Leesburg
May 12 & 14, Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls
June 9 & 11,* Leesburg Public Safety Center, 65 Plaza Street, Leesburg (*The date and location are tentative and may change prior to the meeting.)
