The City of Alexandria has mailed bills for the first half 2015 real estate tax and refuse fee to all property owners and/or mortgage companies. The 2015 real estate tax rate is $1.043 per $100 of assessed value.

Two Virginia Regional Projects Receive Stronger Economies
The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development is pleased to announce that two regions in the state have received awards through the Stronger Economies Together (SET) program. Virginia’s Growth Alliance (VGA) received the Innovation in Regional Development Award and the Northern Neck received an award for the Development of a High Quality Plan. The awards were given in recognition of regions that have effectively implemented an innovation process or strategy to support their region’s economic SET plan.
Arlington County Board Approves Option to Buy N. Quincy Street Property
The Arlington County Board today approved an option agreement to buy a three-parcel, six-acre site on N. Quincy Street, for $30 million, from three limited liability corporations controlled by Bill Buck and his family. The Board also approved a first payment of $1.2 million on the option. The agreement gives the County until November 20, 2017 to exercise its option to buy the property.
