EPA Action Stayed

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 12, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today issued the following statement:

“We applaud the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for their decision to grant a stay of the EPA’s overreaching rule to revise the definition of “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) under the Clean Water Act.

The regulations are extremely burdensome for American farmers, businesses, and landowners, and it is important that the regulatory scheme not be enforced until substantial legal challenges can be resolved.

Unfortunately, this was not done with the MATS regulations, and two coal-powered Electrical Generating Units in the 9th District alone had to close down less than 60 days before the Supreme Court ruled the EPA did not have authority to issue the rules as written.”
