Scott to Tour Marshall Courts Public Housing Complex

On Monday, April 17, 2017, Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) will meet with representatives of Housing Authorities in Hampton Roads to discuss funding cuts for federal housing programs proposed in President Trump's Fiscal Year 2018 budget proposed. Following the meeting, Congressman Scott will tour Marshall Courts, a 349 unit Public Housing Complex. The complex is currently undergoing a multi-phased comprehensive renovation that is subject to massive cuts under President Trump’s proposed budget.

Alexandria City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Ramsey Homes on March 12

At its regular meeting on February 23, 2016, the Alexandria City Council voted unanimously to rescind its vote on February 20 to approve a master plan amendment and deny a rezoning of the Ramsey Homes property at 699 N. Patrick St. The Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority, which owns the property, proposed to replace the existing 15 public housing units in four two-story buildings with 53 public and affordable units in two three-story buildings

County Manager Proposes $1.19 Billion FY 2017 Budget

Arlington County Manager Mark Schwartz today previewed for the County Board a proposed $1.19 billion Base Budget for FY 2017 that is balanced and is a 2.8 percent increase above the FY 2016 adopted budget. The manager also proposed that the $6.2 million in higher-than-projected revenues now expected be used to fund a tax rate reduction and more investments

Dialogue Event on the Upcoming 2015 RFP for Fairfax County Affordable Housing Blueprint Funds

The Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is preparing to release the 2015 Affordable Housing Blueprint Funding Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of affordable housing projects in Fairfax County. This opportunity is intended to address the goals and metrics set forth in the Fairfax County FY 2016 Housing Blueprint. This marks the first time Fairfax County will simultaneously release affordable housing funding and federal project-based vouchers for competition.
