Turner Selected to Construct $180 Million Granby Tower in Norfolk, Virginia

Washington, D.C. – July 25, 2007 – Turner Construction Company has been selected by the Marathon Development Group to serve as the general contractor for the $180 million residential Granby Tower in Norfolk, Va.

When complete in November 2009, the one million square foot., mixed-use complex will feature luxury condominiums, offices and shops.  The 31-story tower will feature over 300 residential units, 13,000-sq.-ft. of retail space and a six story parking garage. The project will be the city’s tallest building at 490 feet and the largest privately owned building in the region.

“We are proud to have been selected to construct this important addition to the Norfolk skyline for the enjoyment of the city’s residents,” said Christian Jahrling, Vice President and General Manager of Turner’s Washington, D.C. operations.
