Assessor’s office seeks college applicants for a unique internship propgram

January 03, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — The city’s Office of the Assessor of Real Estate is seeking applicants for the 2013 Real Estate Assessment Internship Program. Undergraduate and graduate college students are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity to gain insight and experience in real estate assessments.

The eight-week, volunteer program includes 128 hours of diverse assessment experience, including public relations, ownership and title, and assessment administration.

The work schedule can be arranged as two eight-hour days a week or four four-hour days. The internship may be undertaken throughout the year. Past interns include students from the College of William and Mary, Norfolk State University, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University.

Interested students should complete a City of Hampton Volunteer application, available online, and send a letter of interest – along with a college transcript and a letter of recommendation from a college instructor – to:
