The Norfolk City Council has appointed Deborah Bunn as City Real Estate Assessor. Bunn served in the City Assessor’s office for 17 years before leaving to become first the deputy, and then the City Assessor in Suffolk – a position she held for seven years.
Since 1998, Bunn has served as a Project Supervisor for Tyler Technologies. In that capacity, she has been involved in a number of projects involving large metropolitan counties, including:
- Bernalillo County (Albuquerque), New Mexico, where Bunn managed the commercial reassessment of 10,000 commercial properties.
- Nassau County (Long Island), New York, where Bunn served as Operations Manager for its first reassessment of over 400,000 residential and commercial properties in several decades.
- Franklin County (Columbus), Ohio, where Bunn served as Operations Manager for its general reassessment of over 300,000 parcels.
- Allegheny County (Pittsburgh), PA , where Bunn has served as Chief Assessment Officer since October, 2004. In that position, she was responsible for the valuation of over 500,000 residential and commercial parcels and the management of a staff of approximately 80 appraisers.
