The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development is pleased to announce that two regions in the state have received awards through the Stronger Economies Together (SET) program. The Arlington County Board today approved an option agreement to buy a three-parcel, six-acre site on N. Quincy Street, for $30 million, from three limited liability corporations controlled by Bill Buck and his family. The Board also approved a first payment of $1.2 million on the option. The agreement gives the County until November 20, 2017 to exercise its option to buy the property.

Stafford County helped the George Washington Foundation celebrate a groundbreaking for the reconstruction of George Washington's boyhood home on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Ferry Farm in Stafford County. The reconstruction of the home site is the first effort of an expansion that will eventually include a visitor's center. The home will give visitors, young and old alike, a glimpse into the daily life of the boy who would become the Father of our Country
