Hampton Seeking Citizens To Serve As Commissioners On Hampton Redevelopment And Housing Authority (HRHA)

Hampton, VA – May 18, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The Hampton City Council is seeking two (2) Hampton residents to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA).

The HRHA provides affordable housing to low and moderate income people, housing service referrals, and opportunities for housing program participants to achieve self-sufficiency. HRHA also revitalizes and stabilizes existing residential and commercial areas of the city, and provides rehabilitation loans and grants to low to moderate income homeowners.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge or expertise acquired through experience or formal education in one or more of the following areas/disciplines:

  • Banking Finance and/or Accounting
  • Business Management
  • Business Planning and Marketing
  • Community Development and Redevelopment
  • Real Estate
  • Social/Human Services
  • Legal
  • Housing Management and/or Development
  • Knowledge of Local Government, Board Governance, Policy Making and/or Strategic Planning.
