WASHINGTON - July 21, 2008 - (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced today that it has charged Arbors Owners' Association, Inc., of Las Vegas, NV, and its management agent, First Columbia Community Management, Inc., with violating the Fair Housing Act by allegedly refusing to provide a disabled homeowner a parking space close to his condominium.

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services, in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services (MR/MR/SAS) and Volunteers of America, has re-opened the Homeless Drop-In Center on old Sycolin Road in Leesburg previously operated by The Good Shepherd Alliance.

Along with the department of Human Services, The Dwelling Place, For KIDS, Inc., the YWCA, and Salvation Army/ Norfolk Command have been awarded a total of $324,000 in federal and state grants, which will be used to support the services of the Norfolk’s homeless population.
