Leesburg, VA – August 10, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Loudoun County is a recipient of a 2010 Achievement Award from the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo). The award recognizes Loudoun’s Homeless Services Center as a model local government program. The Homeless Services Center, which opened in 2009, is a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified, energy efficient building which consolidated four facilities under one roof, serving multiple needs in a single facility. In addition to the Transitional Housing Program, the facility includes the two-dozen beds that had been located at the facilities on The Woods Road, as well as the Emergency Cold Weather Shelter and the daytime Drop-In Center.
