Payments postmarked after June 6, 2011, will incur a 10% late payment penalty. The penalty date will not be extended for bills where assessment questions have been filed with the Board of Equalization. Additional interest at the rate of 10% per annum will be assessed

Robinson, age 38, a Richmond realtor and owner of Citicorp Investments, a Virginia LLC, pled guilty today to a five-year mortgage loan fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1341. Robinson is facing a sentence of 30 years in prison and a fine of $1 million dollars when she is sentenced by Chief United States District Judge James R. Spencer on July 31, 2011. Neil J. April 8, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- In July 2010, the Loudoun County Treasurer’s Office was among the first in the Commonwealth of Virginia to offer individual taxpayers the opportunity to receive their personal property tax bills electronically. Since that time, more than 12,000 citizens have registered and received their personal property tax bills through e-mail.

April 7, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- City Manager James K. Hartmann announced the appointment of Thaddeus Jankowski, Jr. as the new Director of Real Estate Assessments. The Director of Real Estate Assessments is responsible for responsible for the administration, plans and programs for appraisal of all taxable real estate in the City. Mr. Jankowski’s appointment is effective April 11. He succeeds former Director Cynthia Smith-Page, who retired last November.

The program, known as Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), came into existence in 2009 and is widely criticized by government watchdogs like the Government Accountability Office (GAO). NORFOLK, VA - March 24, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The City of Norfolk is pleased to announce that homelessness in Norfolk has decreased by 4% from January 2010 to January 2011. Mayor Paul D. Fraim states, "I am quite pleased that in two of the most difficult economic years, our community has worked together to continue to end homelessness. We know that we still have much work to do and that there are still many in our community in need of our assistance to put homelessness or the threat of losing their housing behind them." Overall, 536 persons were identified as being homeless during the 24-hour, 2011 Point-in-Time count. This compares to 556 counted in January 2010 which also showed a 4% decrease from the previous count in 2009.
