May 6, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The Hampton City Council is seeking a Hampton resident to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA). This appointment will be to fill the portion of a term which expires on June 30, 2013.
The HRHA provides affordable housing to low and moderate income people, housing service referrals, and opportunities for housing program participants to achieve self-sufficiency. HRHA, through its redevelopment powers, also revitalizes and stabilizes existing residential and commercial areas of the city, and provides rehabilitation loans and grants to low to moderate income homeowners.
Desirable qualifications include knowledge or expertise acquired through experience or formal education in one or more of the following areas/disciplines:
- Banking finance and/or accounting
- Business management
- Business planning and marketing
- Community development
- Residential and commercial development and redevelopment
- Real estate
- Social/human services
- Legal
- Housing management
- Knowledge of local government, board governance, policy making and/or strategic planning
For this appointment, City Council’s major focus will be applicants with skills and experience in the areas of residential and commercial real estate development and redevelopment.
