WARNER & KAINE ANNOUNCE MORE THAN $736,000 TO RELIEVE VETERANS’ HOMELESSNESS IN VIRGINIA
U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced that the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) are awarding $736,284 to Virginia housing authorities and local VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) to help homeless veterans find affordable and stable housing.
Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System Wins EPA Federal Green Challenge Award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced that the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System has won a Federal Green Challenge award for transportation. The Challenge encourages federal agencies throughout the nation to lead by example by conserving energy and resources, cutting waste, reducing pollution and saving money.
Bill gives surviving spouses of fully disabled veterans access to VA loans
Washington, DC - October 18, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Virginia Foxx’s (NC-05) bipartisan legislation that fixes a flaw in the VA home loan system passed the House last night as part of H.R. 2433, the Veterans Opportunity to Work Act. Her bill, the Disabled Veterans’ Surviving Spouses Home Loans Act, provides access to VA home loans for surviving spouses of permanently disabled veterans whose deaths are not necessarily attributed to their service-related disability.
Rahall Announces Funding for Veterans Supportive Housing
